WHITE BACK
White back disease, muscle opacity (muscle whitening), and body curvature are among the most dangerous and difficult-to-treat diseases in whiteleg shrimp. However, until now, the exact cause of this disease has not been clearly identified. Some believe it may be caused by a virus or certain bacteria; however, there has been no conclusive scientific evidence to confirm these assumptions. Such claims remain subjective, unverified, and lack persuasive scientific basis.
With 15 years of experience in whiteleg shrimp farming in Thailand, MEGAMART Company, using the most advanced methods, conducted research directly on commercial shrimp ponds and identified the causes of white back, muscle opacity, and body curvature disease in whiteleg shrimp as follows.
As commonly known, whiteleg shrimp require large amounts of nutrients and essential minerals from the pond environment. Therefore, from the third year of continuous farming onward, whiteleg shrimp are often observed to develop white back, muscle opacity, and body curvature. The main reason is the progressive depletion and deterioration of nutrients and minerals in long-term cultured ponds. Nutrient and mineral deficiencies in shrimp lead to the manifestation of these conditions.
Based on this understanding, MEGAMART Company researched and developed the product “WHITE BACK”, designed to supplement essential nutrients and minerals for shrimp ponds, thereby effectively treating white back and body whitening conditions in whiteleg shrimp.
